Find me at the Fountain in Potts Point

Potts Point is fast becoming a fantastic little Foodie suburb, and its no wonder many a Sydney foodie can be found dining at the latest kid on the block all day eatery The Fountain.

Fountain, named in celebration of King’s Cross’ iconic El Alamein Fountain located directly opposite, pays homage to the rich Art Deco era of the 1930s and the resurgence of the Potts Point area.

Designed by ACME, Fountain’s interiors retain their original Art Deco spirit to reflect the heritage of the historical building. A large outdoor dining area overlooking Macleay Street and the El Alamein Fountain also pays reference to this era of bohemian decadence, which championed alfresco dining and wine culture.

Drop in for a coffee, a wine with friends, or settle in and stay a while – it’s the perfect place to meet, see and be seen. Serving up a fresh, seasonal menu of house made classics, by day, Fountain is a deluxe breakfast eatery that makes starting every day a delicious experience.

Try Sweet Corn Fritters (with avocado salsa, coriander and free range soft poached eggs), Toasted Sourdough (with lashings of local Pepe Saya’s cultured butter and hank jam), Fountain Duck Fat Hash (a stack of bacon, avocado, tomato salsa, cheddar and soft poached egg) and the house speciality, Crème Bruleè French Toast (smothered with caramelised banana, toffee, berries and clotted cream).

Wash it down with a refreshing Potts Point’s own Simon Says’ Cold Pressed Juices delivered via bicycle daily (you can’t get more local than that!) and Fountain’s exclusive coffee blend poured just the way you like it. There’s also take away options for those who want to grab something tasty on the run.

Come Springtime, Fountain will effortlessly transition into a premium wine bar stocking the award-winning Hungerford Hill and Sweetwater Estate varietals from the Hunter Valley, as well as an expertly curated selection of wines from across the globe. Enjoy a light bite or a tipple – or if you’re in the mood, tuck into something a little more generous.

Day or night, there’s a range of sophisticated tastes and textures available including Wild Mushroom Risotto (Arborio rice, enoki, shitake, oyster, black truffle emulsion finished with lashings of pecorino cheese), Atlantic Salmon (served with a decadent side of shaved fennel, heirloom tomato, dehydrated olives and coriander) or a modern twist on the Reuben Sandwich (layers of pastrami, Swiss cheese, sauerkraut and Russian sauce served with old-fashioned French fries).

Why not drop in for a quick cocktail at the bar after work (with intriguing monikers like Old Fashioned at the Fountain, Smoked Negroni or the decadent Bloody Mary Jugs) and, if you’re feeling peckish, match your tipple with a selection of appetising bar snacks such as Salt Cod Fish Croquettes, Beer Battered Zucchini Flowers or Deep Fried Marinated Olives.

Whatever the time of day, Fountain Potts Point is set to be your new local.
