The one and only World Champion Boxer – Danny Green – has developed a health and fitness program aimed squarely at the average, everyday champion.
Team Danny Green (TDG) is an online program featuring simple and achievable food and exercise plans designed by some of Australia’s top trainers and nutritionists and guided by the philosophies of one of Australia’s most respected athletes.
Green was spurred into action when he learnt that nearly 70 per cent of Australian men are considered overweight or obese.
“I was staggered to read the percentage of obesity within males in Australia,” Green says. “For a country that loves sport so much and with the outdoor climate we live in where everything’s pointed towards leisure and exercising, the amount of people who are unhealthy and overweight is shocking.”
Green is quick to set TDG apart from the myriad of other fad diets and fitness products that saturate the market.
“A lot of other apps and programs aren’t realistic because they set the bar too high,” he says. “We’ve made things really simple so anyone can fit exercising into their daily routine while following a nourishing, healthy diet – and you can still enjoy a beer or a chocolate bar at the right times within reason.”
Typically straight talking, Green has put the onus on Australian men to take charge of their own health.
“Guys have got to make a conscious decision that they want to make a change in their life,” he says. “This program isn’t going to jump out of the screen and grab you by the scruff of the neck. But at TDG we’ll help members achieve their health and fitness goals which will enable them to enjoy a better lifestyle.”
Danny Green is the only Australian boxer to have won 4 professional boxing world titles in 3 different weight divisions, including the WBC Super Middleweight, WBA Light Heavyweight and two-times IBO Cruiserweight Champion.
Highlights of Danny’s career include a knockout defeat of American Boxing legend and future Hall of Famer fighter Roy Jones, Jr. He’s promoted and competed in two of the highest grossing and most watched pay-per-view television events in Australian broadcast history.
The Perth-based father of two is also a successful businessman, having established the Green Zone gymnasium in Western Australia and 12 Rounds Fitness in Brisbane. A keen philanthropist, he supports numerous charities, including his Fighting Chance Foundation and is currently spearheading his own funded TV campaign against the ever growing epidemic of street violence across the nation.
