Last night was the highly anticipated launch of Applejack Hospitality’s fourth venue ‘The Butler’. The newly opened bar and restaurant is located in the backstreets of Potts Point on Victoria Street, in the iconic site of Mezzaluna, and before that restaurant royalty Butlers. It pays homages to this along with the historic Butlers stairs.
Over 100 guests attended the canapé style event, including top media and celebrities such as Zoe Marshall, Steven Kahill, Justine Schofield, Matt Doran, Joe Snell and Anna Bamford.
Guests were welcomed on arrival in the elegant top bar with a choice of two cocktails – Butler Side Car (Apricot infused Hine Cognac, Cointreau, lemon and orgeat with a roasted almond sugar rim) and La Mule (Ketel One Vodka with St Germaine Elderflower Liqueur, lime, angostura bitters, fresh basil and house made ginger beer) – before making their way down the staircase into the stunning main restaurant, then onto the terrace providing panoramic views of the city.
Award winning Applejack Hospitality Group Executive Chef James Privett is at the helm of the kitchen, with a menu boasting a range of creative share foods with a peppering of French Caribbean flavours. Privett created a menu especially for the night to showcase a selection of the dishes. Guests enjoyed Crisp shiitake mushrooms and spiced tomato, Lyonnaise pork sausage rolls, rum & pineapple salsa, Crabmeat & speck croquettes, Crepe, chive crème fraiche & salmon roe, Classic beef tartare cones, Beef & spiced pork sliders with creole mayo and Prawn & pea risotto.
With subtle botanical and colonial French themes, The Butler is a relaxed and casual venue, with an emphasis on sharp service. Catering for its customer’s entire night out, patrons can start with pre-dinner cocktails, move on to a meal with friends, and end with an evening night cap. Customers will enjoy delicious food and a stylish drinks selection in a truly unique Sydney setting.
