I’m a huge fan of tattoos, probably not on me though as I’m not a huge fan of needles, but for many guy’s and gals these days a tattoo is a must have. The question is what happens down the track when you decide that tattoo all over your hands isn’t something you want anymore? Well that’s where PicoSure comes in to help erase what was once thought of as permanent…
Cynosure, the global leader in light-based systems for aesthetic and medical treatments, has launched PicoSure in Australia, the latest laser treatment technology offering patients superior tattoo removal results.
PicoSure is the world’s first, fast and effective picosecond aesthetic laser treatment technology. Patients will achieve visibly clearer, ink-free skin in less time than ever before. Even difficult ink colours such as blues and greens, as well as previously “untreatable” tattoos, can now be removed with fewer treatments whilst maintaining excellent skin clarity.
Since the number of individuals bearing tattoos has increased, so has the need for improved tattoo removal methods. Approximately 12% of the Australian population have at least one tattoo, with an estimated one third of those tattooed admitting that they regret getting a tattoo.* Given that one in seven Australians have either commenced or looked into tattoo removal, the introduction of PicoSure into the Australian market is revolutionary as it provides a fast and effective method for the removal of unwanted tattoos. *SOURCE: Mc Crindle Pty Ltd- Research Visualisation
The PicoSure aesthetic laser uses picosecond technology, whereby ultra-short pulse bursts of energy are projected onto the skin in just trillionths of a second. PicoSure tattoo removal is more effective than existing methods due to its picosecond pulse width, which is 100 times shorter than that of the current nanosecond laser technologies.
Clinical studies show that PicoSure is able to treat darker, multi-coloured and complex tattoos more efficiently, with significant removal in much less time. Typically, existing nanosecond laser methods often require more than fifteen treatments, whereas PicoSure technology boasts considerable improvement in just 2-6 treatments. Compared to traditional nanosecond lasers that rely predominately on photothermal (heat) action, PicoSure’s revolutionary ultra-short pulse laser goes beyond the photothermal action of a traditional laser by creating an intense photomechanical effect. This patented PressureWaveTM technology causes disruption to the targeted area. Tattoo ink is literally shattered into tiny, dust-like particles that are easily eliminated by the body, leaving the surrounding skin tissue uninjured.
