Mazda Rooftop Cinema Celebrates 30 Years of the Mazda MX-5

In celebration of 30 years of the Mazda MX-5, some of Melbourne’s most notable names flocked to Melbourne’s Federation Square Skyline Terrace on Valentine’s Day for Mazda’s Roof Off on the Roof Top drive-in cinema.

Rogue Homme’s Melbourne contributor, Joseph Dang, was there to enjoy the Valentine’s Day fun, alongside Mazda ambassadors Lauren Phillips, Rob Mills, and Brent ‘Boomer’ Harvey, and notable Aussie faces including Isabella Giovinazzo, Khanh Ong, Jess Alizzi and Alex Dyson. Love was well and truly in the air – as siblings, new beaus, long-lasting love birds and best mates came together for a blissful night under the Melbourne summer sky.

Following drinks and canapes, guests watched classic rom-com Crazy Stupid Love from the comfort of their very own MX-5 sports car – enjoying the flick to the backdrop of a setting sun over the cityscape (popcorn and choc top to boot, of course).

Heralded by the Guinness World Records (2011) as the world’s best-selling two seater sports car, the Mazda MX-5 has amassed a cult following around the globe, selling more than one million units, and collecting more than 200 awards along the way.

To celebrate three decades of this iconic car, Mazda has announced it will release a limited-edition Mazda MX-5 later this year to the public, available in a brand-new colour finish – Racing Orange.

Only 30 of these limited-edition beauties will be available to the public, and with demand already flowing in, we might have to settle for enjoying them from afar…

Thanks Mazda …
