Australian gentlemen’s clothier M.J. Bale has launched a collection of suits created from superfine Merino wool taken from a single farm in the northern midlands of Tasmania. Called the Kingston Collection, the suits are the result of a three-year on-farm collaboration between M.J. Bale and Kingston, a 112-year-old family-owned Merino wool farm.
A conservationist enterprise, Kingston is highly regarded for its ethical and sustainable on farm strategies that creates an eco-friendly Merino fibre considered to be the purest in the world.
Tucked away in the wilds of Tasmania, Kingston has been managed by the custodial hands of the Cameron family for four generations. The family has developed their flock over more than a century to enhance the qualities of their Merino wool to exacting standards, including maximum durability and unmatched breathability. In the hands of Italian Gold Woolmark weavers and then M.J. Bale’s tailors, the fibre has been developed for suits that is superbly cool in summer and warm in winter.

The Kingston collection includes four classically styled Super 120s and Super 150s superfine Merino wool suits in tones of charcoal, grey, blue and navy.
A percentage from every Kingston suit sale will be returned to the farm to help conserve Kingston’s biodiversity. This support will help the Cameron family maintain the habitat of over 12 endangered and threatened native Australian flora and fauna species, directly assisting maintaining and enhancing Kingston through weed abatement, soil erosion control and vegetation regeneration.
