In a F1 race like you’ve never seen before, the two drivers don their suits and helmets and start with a sprint through the vineyard complete with push bikes. Next they jump on to motorbikes, Segways, boats and even tractors, with the competitive spirit of Jenson and Fernando creating a dynamic race of one-upmanship. Always striking a balance of focus and fun, our drivers race across the Domaine Chandon winery estate. From the dark cool Riddling Hall where they carefully avoid spilling bottles of bubbles, to the bright Tasting Room where they meet guests who are relaxing and enjoying their afternoon at the vineyard, it’s neck and neck until they reach the finish line.

Jenson Button said: “We’re lucky enough to visit some amazing cities all around the world but Australia is certainly a special destination for us both as it kicks of the F1 season. It was great to spend some time in the beautiful Yarra Valley filming the content scenes, it’s certainly not a usual way to spend our time in Australia!

Fernando Alonso said: “I am fortunate enough to race for one of the iconic Formula 1™ teams in the world and it was a great experience to take part in a unique race like this and have a bit of fun. McLaren-Honda is always pushing the envelope with technological developments for our cars and so we were excited to try something completely different with the challenges the Chandon team threw at us!”

Ashley Powell, Marketing Director at Chandon said: “Australia is the first Chandon market to work with McLaren-Honda and we’re thrilled to be able to launch our partnership with such a vibrant and unique piece of content. Fernando and Jenson were great to work with. They both can be a bit competitive and known for having a bit of fun, so our content idea worked perfectly! I’m looking forward to seeing this conquering spirit carry them through for a successful outcome in the 2016 Formula 1™ Season.”

The 2016 Formula 1™ Rolex Australian Grand Prix race will mark the official launch of Chandon’s global partnership with the McLaren-Honda Formula 1 team.
