I was recently invited to pop in to the beautiful new Hacienda Bar at The Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour, the stunning new bar has gained a little bit of a following since its launch for the delightful decor to the view and Cocktail & Food menu.
Situated on the harbour at Circular Quay Hacienda Bar boasts a view of Sydney like no other, you’re practically on the water with an uninterrupted view of the harbour bridge.
We visited the Thursday of the Easter long-weekend and the bar was almost filled to capacity when we arrived, obviously word has spread and the bar was filled with a mix of patrons of all ages.
We were led to a corner table with the best view in the house, and took a few minutes to just soak up how beautiful it was. We were then offered the new Autumn Cocktail & Food menu’s for our perusal, the cocktail menu is extensive with a creative and delicious selection that will a smile on anyone’s face.
Our first cocktails The Agua Bendita a tarty herbaceous cocktail with a smooth finish and the Gentleman’s Breakfast a jammy tarty concoction served with a biscuit are both delicious and unusual at the same time.
It was time to try the food Hacienda had on offer, and the menu had a delicious mix of Seafood, Meat & Veggie options. My dining companion who was Gluten intolerant enquired about Gluten Free options and the staff were kind enough to advise the kitchen could offer most of the menu items Gluten Free.
We thought it only fair to try a little bit of everything, from my favourite The Spiced Lamb Riblets, the Char Grilled Octopus, Pao De Quejo ( tapioca balls ) and my other favourite of the night the Chorizo Balls.
The drinks menu draws inspiration from strong Latin influence in Miami, and the Cuban influence is clear throughout the Cocktail and Food menu. There is definitely something on the menu for everyone, and each item is thought through and packed with flavour and intricacy.
So for cocktail’s with a view and touch of Cuba we’ll see you Hacienda…
