Last week Designer Pinboards Australia were part of the Sydney InDesign expo, together with Fulton Trotter Architects they showcased the Australian Premiere of the Forbo Bulletin Board’s new colour range as part of the Designer Pinboards installation.
The annual, three day event held in August is an opportunity for leading creative figures from the architecture and design industry to come together and showcase the world of design in a curated and experiential way. Designed in collaboration with Fulton Trotter Architects, Designer Pinboards Australia will showcase their custom made pinboards and noticeboards in a conceptual installation highlighting the functionality and sophisticated design through the art of pinning. The striking and interactive installation will feature Forbo’s dynamic colour range in addition to a focal centerpiece supplied by Autex, conceptualised by Fulton Trotter Architects.
Designed to suit any space and available in a diverse range of natural rich colours and intensities, Designer Pinboard products provide a functional and decorative finished product, hand crafted from tried and tested linseed based boards.
“Fulton Trotter Architects are extremely excited this year to have teamed up with Designer Pinboards Australia in a collaborative effort to design their stand at the upcoming InDesign event in Sydney. We are happy to be working with such an exciting product, and look forward to being able to showcase the fantastic new range of colours and applications of DPA products through inspired pinning.
This year we are taking the competition theme of ‘Ritual, the art of tradition’ as a medium to explore how even with the rapid evolution of technology and social media, certain traditions are still as present now as they ever were. The act of displaying an image or idea on the wall has been present since cave paintings, but has now evolved into the social media post, pin and tag onto more virtual ‘walls’. We wanted to build upon this to create an engaging environment where the pinning is physical, and the expression creative. Make sure you check-in to the DPA stand this year to experience ‘The act and art of pinning’!”
Lauren Saull, Interior Designer, Fulton Trotter Architects.
