March has long been celebrated as a style savvy month. It starts with Virgin Australia’s Melbourne Fashion Festival held annually in the first weeks of March. Now the Central Coast is celebrating its own strong influence on the international stage of style, with the launch ofCentral Coast Fashion Week – kicking off on Wednesday March 22 at bombini restaurant at Avoca Beach.
Central Coast Fashion Week is the creative brainchild of three local creative powerhouses – Hayley Hardcastle, Weave Dibden Neck and Emily Berlach. Hayley is co-owner of the chic, bombini restaurant at Avoca Beach, working alongside her husband Cameron Cansdell who was awarded with last year’s ‘Electrolux Young Restaurateur of the Year’ title. Weave Dibden Neck is the internationally renowned designer of the By Weave label, dressing many of the world’s stars; Weave has recently returned home to the NSW Central Coast and will be launching her new casual daywear range ‘Ukiyo’ at Central Coast Fashion Week. Emily Berlach is of Bohemian Traders, a label that has fast earned cult status with its modern bohemia style, now wardrobe staples around the country.
Together they recognised that this beautiful region has nurtured many of the country’s leading style influencers, and it was time to put a stamp on its credentials to launch an event that celebrated home-grown talent.
Alongside By Weave and Bohemian Traders, the Central Coast has borne many of the country’s leading fashion pack, now style leaders of their own right on the international fashion stage. Recognisable names include Gary Pepper Girl aka Nicole Warne, with 1.7 million followers on Instagram and gracing the covers of magazines and leading fashion blogs from around the world; Terrigal’s Jessica Stein owns the Tuula Vintage title with 2.5 million followers on Instagram, and leads a jet-set lifestyle showcasing her style influence from exotic locations around the world; Elle Ferguson, half of the trailblazing fashionable duo They All Hate Us alongside Tash Sefton, offering style counsel via their chic blog and online store. Other notable names include April Cartwright of Travels of a Stylist; fashion and lifestyle photographer, Jac Powell; and fashion blogger, Andrea Hetherington, of Leather and Lattes.
Central Coast Fashion Week is set to be an extravaganza that celebrates fashion, arts, ideas and the creative, kicking off in high style on Wednesday 22 March.
