The Biennale of Sydney is all about bringing art to the people and it was the perfect event to be introduced to the forward thinking TWT Property, who have made it a part of their property design DNA to bring Art and the community together creating a new form of residential development.
Hopping on a private ferry from Barangaroo we set off for Cockatoo Island across the harbour, and boy were we in for a treat on arrival. The dulcet vocals of a soprano greeted us as we walked into the event room, delicious cocktails and a selection of fine wine Australian wines were doing the rounds and as we filled the space delightful morsels of food were served to us by the fabulous servers. Every little aspect of the event was thought through and it felt special.
We were officially greeted by the local team and the heads of TWT, and throughout the speeches we were made to feel right at home and a part of the TWT family. There was a sense of excitement in the air as we prepared for a once in a lifetime behind the scenes tour of the Biennale of Sydney, as one of the principle sponsors TWT had the pleasure of sharing this amazing opportunity with its community, potential buyers, and of course with a few of us lucky publishers.
I must admit I have never attended the Biennale of Sydney and to be invited to attend was quite special, CockatooIsland at night is quite mysterious and cast a different mood and feeling over the exhibits. It felt like we had direct access to the artists, as the tour guides shared tidbits of information direct from the artists set up and moments of inspiration it felt quite reverent and poignant.
The night concluded with the draw of some amazing prizes, just another touch of generosity from TWT Property to say thank you to everyone that took time out to attend. I look forward to seeing how TWT create change in our property development industry, as they set out to change the way residential developments Co-exist with its local community.
Thanks for an amazing night TWT and the most inspiring look behind the Biennale of Sydney, the Biennale finishes on June 11th and is most definitely worth a visit to Cockatoo Island before then?
