After my stuff up the other weekend, I’ve made it my business to be super aware of everything I’m doing throughout the day. We get so bogged down in the little things we do that we can sometimes forget to look at the bigger picture.
#UNDER100 is my bigger picture and I knew when I started that it was going to be a challenge but the destination will be worth the hard journey.
This was the fourth week of training and after my weigh in and some good muscle gain and fat loss, Blake decided it was time to up the ante. Monday and Wednesday’s weights session saw me laying on the ground in the foetal position begging for mercy. Yup not a good look, a grown man lying on the gym floor unable to move his arms! No mercy from Blake though: “We have a goal to reach,”he said. “And it’s going to take hard work”.
My solo cardio sessions weren’t any different, with me dripping with sweat and hanging on to the treadmill for dear life at the end of the session. Each week Blake’s being changing up the cardio session to ensure my body never gets too comfortable with what I’m doing.
It gets difficult sometimes when I look at myself in the mirror, I know there’s muscle development happening but because of excess skin, it feels like nothing’s changed. I have to keep reminding myself that being healthy is a way of life, and it doesn’t matter how my body might look without my clothes on, what matters is what’s inside – Healthy Body and Healthy Organs.
So for anyone out there who has lost the weight and feeling the same way I do, you’re not alone so don’t stop. Staying healthy and fit is a way of life and a journey, you’ve made the first step and it’s only the beginning. Remember, “Life is for Living” and now we are.
This picture is a little reminder of where I was at and it’s a place Shaun once told me I would never go back to if I stayed true to myself.
Thank God for a little distraction from all the training, a photo shoot on Bondi Beach with Blake for The Wentworth Courier. I’ll be posting the article next week so stay tuned.
Thanks again for taking the time to check out my post.
