Bondi Hardware End of Summer Second Birthday Party!
I had the pleasure last night to attend local favourite restaurant and bar Bondi Hardware’s second Birthday. Owned by Applejack Hospitality who are behind successful Sydney restaurants The Botanist Kirribilli and SoCal Neutral Bay, Bondi Hardware held a huge end of summer birthday party to celebrate turning two years old. Over 200 locals, friends, media and celebrities attended including Psy impersonator Teddy Kim, Tara Rushton, Arrnott Olssen, Simon Hancock, Tali Jatali and Matt Doran.
Hawaiian dress was encouraged (with many guests embracing the theme wearing brilliantly bright flora shirts and staff dressed in Pfeiffer The Label jumpsuits!) and the venue gave out free Lei’s to all attendees. JL Images photo booth provided some hilarious photo mementos of the evening, with props such as coconut bras, grass skirts and Tiki masks to play dress up in. DJ’s spun summer beats and guests were treated to a choice of two cocktails; Hardware Hoola made with Ketel One Vodka, lime, coconut syrup, raspberry puree & cream, and at the special Tiki bar ‘Blue Steel’ was mixed up to order, consisting of Pampero Especial Rum, Blue Curacao, lime, pineapple, orange and orgeat syrup. Vale Ale, Vale Lager and Batlow Premium Cider were also served along with Forrest Pinot Gris and Villa Sandi Prosecco.
Delicious tasters from the new autumn menu were circulated such as the ever popular classic beef sliders, buttermilk fried chicken drumette’s with smoked honey mustard dressing, whitefish ceviche tostadas, pork & fennel sausage rolls, mac & cheese croquettes, Harissa lamb skewers and cider glazed root vegetable salad with spelt and pumpkin seed.
Named after its original occupant of 30 years, a cluttered Hardware store, Bondi Hardware pays homage to its heritage, with the interior painstakingly transformed utilising exposed brickwork, beams, high gabled ceilings and recycled timber. Bondi’s craftiest restaurant and bar combines a welcoming ambiance, mouth-watering food and delicious beverages to create a uniquely Bondi dining experience. A good workman never blames their tools, and at Bondi Hardware they’re the best in the business!
