A Highland Fling in Spring

Southern Highland Food and Wine Festival 2013

If like me the words “Food” and “Wine” instantly pique your interest, then the Southern Highland Food and Wine Festival is for you. The only unfortunate thing is it’s not on till September, I know mean haha, but the upside is it’s during Spring so definitely the perfect time to visit the Southern Highlands.

This beautiful region is only a 90 minute drive from Sydney or hop on a train and hop off at Bowral station, depending on where you’re headed. The Food and Wine Festival had its beginnings last year in 2012 and because of its popularity its back again this year and its even bigger.

With a region that’s well-known for producing some of the freshest and tastiest produce, along with some amazing wine’s the festival is the best way of taste testing the region in one day. Or like I’m planning to do peruse the two days its open from September 21st to the 22nd and savour as much of it as possible. The event is held at the Bong Bong Picnic Race Course in Bowral and I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before it’s a must visit event.

So diarise it now and I’ll say it again hahaha DONT MISS OUT!
