Sunglass Hut Launches Iconic Fashion Faces Campaign

Sunglass Hut have joined forces with artistic duo Ted O’Donnell and Vicki Lee to shoot iconic fashion faces; Samantha Harris, Yan Yan Chan, Tahnee Atkinson, Zoe Cross and Tom Derickx to demonstrate the beauty of diversity and how this represents Australia.

Taking place in a series of settings that reflect the essence of Australian summer, the shoot features models Samantha Harris, Yan Yan Chan, Tahnee Atkinson, Zoe Cross and Tom Derrickx in Ted & Vicki’s signature style fusing photography and abstract imagery. Each participant sports a different pair of sunglasses from the latest summer collection from Sunglass Hut featuring designer and premium sunglasses.

The collaboration was created to bring attention to designer and luxury brand sunglasses carried at Sunglass Hut, and the numerous styles available for fun, fashionable Australians to wear throughout the summer season.

“We wanted to create a look and feel that was reminiscent of the iconic summer photography that we all grew up with, but in a modern way,” states Ted & Vicki. “Adding sheets of transparent and mirrored Perspex give another dimension to the series; Sun punches through coloured Perspex creating a warm aesthetic, mirrors introduce a sense of nostalgia and reflect white sand, blue water, strong sun. Additionally, we created shadows on some of the images, accentuating the summer feeling.”

The images, shot over a weekend in the Sydney, saw the talent highlight the key sunglass trends for the season of mirrored lenses and open structure sunglasses against a backdrop of sand dunes, sun and surf as directed by Ted & Vicki.

“The key trend that you will see continuing this Summer is mirrored lenses. evolving on from previous seasons, we are seeing bright, colourful mirror sunglasses in tones of rose, silver, aqua, bronze and purple from brands,” Francesca Pezzutto, Sunglass Hut Director of Buying, Australia & New Zealand. “The other key trend for the season is open structure. Frames in this trend have openings in the frame itself or cut directly into the lenses, creating passages of light.”
