Mr.P does it again with the latest release in their collection, a fresh take on Nautical dressing that’s sure to win over some new fans.
Exclusive to MR PORTER, Mr P. provides everyday essentials and trend-inspired seasonal necessities with fresh collections arriving on site five times throughout the year.
Designed and led by our guiding maxim: easy pieces, smart details and enduring style, the latest high-spring into early-summer collection of Mr P. has an underlining nautical theme and takes inspiration from style on the open waters with references to iconic watermen, such as Messrs Jacques Cousteau and John F Kennedy.
There is a relaxed feel to the latest collection, which spans 32 pieces of ready-to-wear. For the first time, shorts are being introduced to the Mr P. range, sitting alongside relaxed tailoring, laidback sportswear, garment-dyed T-shirts and shirts with a colour palette of washed-out and sun-bleached tones. Standout pieces include a matching seersucker blazer and shorts, knitted pique polos, a deep-rib stripe crew-neck T-shirt, a cotton camp-collar stripe shirt, a terracotta worker jacket and an unlined navy blouson.
As with every new collection, it will complement Mr P.’s essentials range, which comprises of 24 core staples that are available year-round here on MR PORTER.
“I love how this collection mixes a rugged ‘shipyard’ style with a more sophisticated ‘naval’ vibe, but is then reinterpreted and made contemporary with Mr P.’s signature aesthetic. For example, a seersucker blazer could be seen as customary yacht club attire, but when teamed with a stripe crew neck T-shirt and sneakers, it becomes very modern and wearable. This collection is all about playing on tradition through relaxed silhouettes, fabrics and cut. Mr P.’s philosophy is that each piece can be transitioned into men’s wardrobes and worn now, so I’m looking forward to see how our customers embed these pieces through their own original style.”
Mr Olie Arnold, Style Director, MR PORTER
“In this collection, we have introduced summer friendly fabrics such as toweling and seersucker that are lightweight and breathable for the forthcoming warmer days. Providing a relaxed and dressed-down feel, garment dye washes continue to feature across blazers, chinos and shorts. We have also experimented with print, a first for Mr P., developing an exclusive arrow print seen on two cotton camp-collar shirts.”
Ms Fiona Firth, Buying Director, MR PORTER
