Company/website/Team?    Wests Tigers / Sense Rugby
Describe what you do?   I’m currently signed to a 1 year deal with the Wests Tigers in the NRL which has been a massive change for me as I had been playing for the Australian Rugby Sevens team for the past 5 years! It’s been really challenging to pick up Rugby League again but the switch has been a lot of fun and I’m progressing well. In my down time my wife (Carlien) and I developed a program called Sense Rugby. Carlien is a Paediatric Occupational Therapist and we combined our talents to run Rugby-based Occupational Therapy groups for kids with special needs.

Why fitness?
Apart from needing a high level of fitness for my job, I just love getting outdoors and being active! It also helps me to stay mentally focused and is a great way to spend time with friends.Who or what inspires you?My family is always at the centre of what I do. I want to make them proud and I want to be able to give back to them for all the years they have supported me. In our Sense Rugby program I’m also lucky enough to be able to work with kids and families who face a lot of adversity in their daily lives. They inspire me to keep trying and continue to work on reaching my goals.

Three words that describe you?
I had to ask my wife about this one she said Loyal, Kind and Stubborn….
What’s your dream project?
I’m lucky enough to be working on my dream project through Sense Rugby. It’s a perfect fit for me as I love working with kids and I love Rugby and Rugby league. It’s also incredible to see the kids experience what it’s like to be part of a team, some of them for the first time.
What advice would you give to someone who’s looking to start their fitness & health journey?
Just like with any major life change, it’s easy to get overwhelmed by the challenge of the task ahead. I think that it’s important to make small changes at a time and acknowledge and be proud of every goal you reach along the way.
Every right or wrong decision you make will either build or break your confidence. Focus on a day at a time and make the decision you know is right in that moment
Name 3 things you can’t live without?
Surf/Music/Exercise
